Scout Road — Feature Staircase
Designed in collaboration with a return client who is an architect, the Scout Road staircase reflects a thoughtful blend of materials and form, tailored to both visual impact and everyday functionality.
The stair features solid steel treads on the top five steps, transitioning into a carpeted stair run that adds comfort and safety underfoot. At the base, a flat bar balustrade is paired with a bespoke timber infill, creating a unique rhythm of texture and detail.
A curved transition in the stair presented a rewarding design challenge, resolved through careful detailing to ensure the solid steel components aligned seamlessly. On Level 1, a striking folded steel balustrade features laser-cut vertical slots, adding sharp geometry and visual interest.
We were fortunate to collaborate again with a client who understands great design. It was a pleasure to help bring this project together in such a well-considered architectural space.
